When you hear so many stories that sound very much the same regarding the Yelp ad sales team and the way they frame their pitches — namely, they’ve allegedly told multiple small businesses that their good reviews will bounce to the top or their bad reviews may get hidden if only they’ll pay to advertise on the site — it’s hard not to believe them. Now Bai Thong Thai (298 Gough Street) is going public with such a story, posting a notice on their door calling for a boycott of Yelp, saying, “We earn our good reviews. We will not pay bribes to Yelp to post them.” [LAT via Eater, Earlier, Earlier, Earlier still]
