The Smith Eyes Expansion; Seamus Mullen Cooks at Louro

• On Wednesday, March 13, Dean & Deluca will host an event called Good Food Ireland. From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., the free celebration of Irish food at the store’s Soho location will include demos and tastings prepared by Maurice Keller, one of Ireland’s top chefs. [Grub Street]

• Heritage Wines opens today in Fort Greene. The store, owned by Charles McMickens (of the General Greene) and managed by Giancarlo Luiggi (of Brooklyn Wine Exchange), features a selection of artisanal wines from small, family-run vineyards around the globe. [Grub Street]

• Actress-baker Jennifer Esposito, of Jennifer’s Way Bakery, is accusing coffee shop the Bean of lying about serving gluten-free products. She says a friend of hers with a gluten allergy was wrongfully told a bagel was gluten-free. The Bean’s owner says the shop does not even sell gluten-free products. [The Local East Village]
