Chef Russell Jackson, who announced a move to New York when he closed Lafitte last year, only to resurface here in December to relaunch his pioneering underground supper club, SubCulture Dining, is remaining New York, as Zagat is reporting. “New York wants me and the culture of food and the support of the NY business system is much better for chef/owners and small businesses,” says Jackson. He’s also going to be appearing on Iron Chef America, competing against Jose Garces, on April 7, but he’ll be doing a series of farewell SubCulture Dining dinners in S.F. on April weekends starting April 12.
