Phoebe Esmon and Christian Gaal Want You to Drink Like Ernest Hemingway This Weekend

Phoebe Esmon and Christian Gaal, the barkeeps at coquettish NoLibs cocktail parlor, Emmanuelle, will take the reins behind the bar at Old City’s Cuba Libre on Sunday for a very boozy seminar about the drinks featured in the life and works of Ernest Hemingway. Museum of the American Cocktail founder and lifelong Papa Hemmy buff, Philip Greene, will lead the program, which is ripped from the pages of his book, entitled To Have and Have Another - A Hemingway Cocktail Companion. Through the 90-minute program, Greene will highlight some of the drinks — and there were plenty — enjoyed by, and featured in the works of the great American writer. Esmon and Gaal will walk the walk while Green talks, mixing and serving cocktails that have become synonymous with Hemingway, including Daiquiri (of course), The Bailey, Americano and more. The cost is $55 per person, and it all gets underway at 6 p.m. sharp. Go here to make reservations.
