Tasting Table alerts us to some delicious sounding items at a brunch pop-up that’s been happening for a few weeks, on Sundays at Firehouse 8 (1648 Pacific Avenue) in Russian Hill. It’s called Marla Bakery, and it’s the project of former Nopa pastry chef Amy Brown and her fiancé, Joe Wolf. The duo also just announced that they’re doing a special Saturday brunch tomorrow only, March 9, at Dear Mom (2700 16th Street), from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Recommended: Brown’s English muffin with a poached egg, smoked brisket, and whey-braised greens.
