Kama Sushi Expands to the Sunset

Photo: Yelp

The Kama Sushi empire is spreading west, as we discover today on the liquor licenses. They’ve put in for a space at 2555 Judah Street, at 31st Avenue, which has been vacant as far as we can tell despite some movement in 2011. Kama currently has two locations in Noe Valley and SoMa — the latter of which only opened last spring — and they specialize in nigiri, sashimi, and ramen. They also appear to have had some success with a Yelp partnership, offering free sake if you check in on Yelp, and other deals. The Sunset opening, given the new license application, is at least a few months out.
