As keynote speaker at a restaurant industry conference in S.F. last week, former 49ers quarterback Joe Montana apparently told the audience that he’s “developing a burger restaurant in San Francisco, though he declined to offer details,” as Nation’s Restaurant News reports. He was being interviewed onstage by Santa Rosa’s own Guy Fieri, who himself is getting set to open a winery up north, to add to his portfolio of chain restaurants that make liberal use of the deep fryer and the adjective “killer.” In a separate panel, Jimmy John Liautaud, CEO of Jimmy John’s Gourmet Sandwiches, railed against the “lefties” like Elizabeth Warren who are trying to raise the minimum wage.
