Hof’s Hut Closes Its 50-Year-Old Flagship in LBC

Hof’s Hut, a Long Beach institution for burgers, chili, pie, and warm, cuddly senior memories, closed its Marina location at Pacific Coast Highway and 2nd Street last night. The business opened over 60 years ago, enjoying roughly 25 blissful years before hearing a single quip about K.I.T.T., little red lifeguard trunks, and 4:00 A.M. hotel floor burgers. NBC talks to a few misty-eyed, geriatric Gidgets and Moondoggies about the “void” now left in their lives this week, though Hof’s Hut is remarkably survived by eight other locations spread around the O.C.-L.A. borderlands.
