How many chefs does it take to cook a five-course benefit dinner? Nine, apparently. The Flavors of Los Angeles event is back for its seventh year on May 5, finding culinary talent cooking tableside for guests paying $275 per seat at Loews Hotel Santa Monica in a fundraiser for The American Liver Foundation. No sooner did we say “liver” than we find out this event is beginning with a cocktail reception and silent auction, before guests take to their tables for face-time and meal-time with a few local chefs. Wilshire’s Nyesha Arrington, Chaya’s Shigefumi Tachibe, Collin Crannell of The Lobster, David Lino from Agoura Hills’ Salt, Seasons 52 chef Timothy Kast, Mirko Paderno of Oliverio, and Hamasaku’s Wonny Lee and Toya Takahashi will join Loews’ own Keith Roberts in preparing the ensuing repast. Tickets can be purchased online.
