South Bay local Jeff Parker, the original head brewer at Strand Brewing, is launching a well-funded new venture local beer this weekend. Called The Dudes’ Brewing Co., Parker has backing from partners Toby Humes and Mike Holwick to bring another local label to the area and go big from the get-go, with an estimated production of 12,000 barrels in 2013 and a fully automated system with the capacity to produce 50,000 barrels annually. Patch reports that four beers will initially hit the bars, including a Blood Orange Amber, Coconut Porter, Grandma’s Pecan, and Day 1 Pale Ale, with additional plans for a Double IPA and Imperial Red in the months to come. The Dudes are also hoping to have a taproom within reach of the beach. After debuting their work at Hot’s Kitchen last night, The Dudes will hold an official release party tonight at Naja’s Place, to be followed by a session at Simmzy’s this Sunday at 11:00 A.M.
