We mentioned last month that Poesia owner Francesco d’Ippolito had snapped up the former Nirvana/Dancing Pig space at 544 Castro and would be opening another Italian concept there serving Roman-style pizza. Now, Tablehopper brings word that the place will called Dante’s Table, and they’re aiming for a mid-April opening. Also, like some of the restaurants in North Beach, the place will be getting some big murals inside. Artist John Baden has been commissioned to do murals based on Dante’s Inferno and Purgatorio, and the back garden and patio will be come Paradiso, naturally. [Tablehopper, Earlier]
