Bar Agricole’s opening chef, Brandon Jew, who’s won a ton of praise since the restaurant opened in 2010, is moving on to open his own restaurant, as the Scoop is reporting. Owner Thad Vogler says he’s leaving with the restaurant’s blessing, and that this was always in the cards. Jew’s replacement will be sous chef Reina Talanoa, and his last day will be in a few weeks. As for clues about his next project, there’s a hint that it will be Chinese-inspired. (This also means Jew won’t be involved in the upcoming Agricole off-shoot at 140 New Montgomery, Whiteside Company, due later this year. In the meantime, watch him in this Vice video from last year, in which he and Outerlands’ Brett Emerson eat their way across the Bay late one night. [Scoop]
