In a titanic team-up of California cuisine talents, Suzanne Goin will welcome Chez Panisse owner and slow foods advocate Alice Waters to West Hollywood on April 21 for a fundraising luncheon supporting a revamped kitchen for the neighborhood’s Larchmont Charter School. Tickets start at $150 for a reception and market-sourced organic lunch prepared by Goin and Waters’ teams, and go up to $1,000 to eat at Waters’ table and $5,000 for a table of ten. This “Lunch Matters” event is being held to bring a program based on Waters own Edible Schoolyard first to this local charter school, with hopes to provide a model for LAUSD schools and other Southern California educational systems. Waters, who will also be appearing at UCLA on April 25, and Goin will both be there to sign cookbooks and talk with guests, with tickets to the four-hour program, being held at The Carondelet House, currently available online.
