In an otherwise uneventful interview today with Eater National, Ms. Waters says of the sprinkler system that saved Chez Panisse in the March 8 fire, “I won’t complain about the way it looks anymore. I’ll just do it.” She had insisted on every measure to conceal the sprinklers before, but she says they’ll now be installed throughout the restaurant. Also, in the restoration process, they’ve decided to put “beautiful” new tables in in the upstairs café. Early June remains the target for the reopening. [Eater, Earlier]
