The anticipated restaurant from the team behind Seersucker and Smith Canteen is finally open. Nightingale 9’s menu is inspired by chef Rob Newton’s travels, and it includes vermicelli bowls and jasmine rice dishes like creamy porridge and fried rice with lard. Newton’s working with farmers from the Carroll Gardens Greenmarket to grow ingredients, but the food isn’t all Brooklyn-driven: The fish sauce is imported from Vietnam, and the house soy sauce hails from … Kentucky. Beer and wine are on tap, and Nightingale’s brewing traditional Vietnamese coffee with sweetened condensed milk. Take a look at the menu and a few more dishes, ahead.
