A few weeks back we told you that Race Street Cafe owner Neil Campbell and his business partner Andy Shahan were working on reviving Goat Hollow, the historic and beloved Mt. Airy neighborhood haunt that’s been closed since 2004. And now we have word from a rep working for the two that the restaurant and bar will open its doors on Monday, January 21. The building’s undergone an extensive rehab; the stone exteriors were restored, and the entire interior — walls, floors, bar and stairs — were all refitted with mostly reclaimed and salvaged materials.

Monk’s vet Adam Glickman is running the kitchen, and has what he’s calling an American Brasserie menu at the ready. Some samples of what’s in store include potted terrine of wild boar, with pickled vegetables, toast points and fruit sauce; oyster muffaleta sandwich, battered and deep-fried oysters with olive tapenade, lettuce, tomato and onion; and Wissahickon burger, with duck liver pâté and truffled cheese. More sophisticated entrees like beef Carbonnade, stewed beef, sweet onion, sour ale and roasted potatoes; striped bass en papillote, made with wit beer and served with vegetables and rice; and a cold-smoked cowboy ribeye, a 16-oz. bone-in grilled steak served with potatoes au gratin, greens and veal demi-glace will round out the board. Local and craft beers, including two rotating casks, and a selection of original and classic cocktails will also be offered. Check out the full menu here.
