The Future of Meat Will Be Decided This Weekend

How can information and technology be used to hack (or reimagine) meat? It's a pretty safe bet that only one food event this weekend will tackle this question. The aptly named Meat Hackathon is a three-day affair sponsored by Grace Communications Foundation, Food+Tech Connect, and Applegate, which produces sustainable meats. The event is designed to produce new ideas about animal farming and production modes through the imposition of constraints and competitive challenges with specific rules. So, basically, like Road Rules, but with more brains and poultry. There will also be, of course, a butchery demo on Sunday afternoon with Tom Mylan. Meat-hack the planet! [Hack//Meat via Green/NYT]
