David and Laura Shea Return to Applewood for Meet the Farmers Dinner

The locavore restaurant Applewood is known for celebrating its suppliers with Meet the Farmer dinners, and when mom-and-pop owners David and Laura Shea made the radical move of abandoning the kitchen for a rural life upstate, the series continued under chef Sam Sherman. Things come full circle on December 11, when the Sheas return as guests of honor, and the six-course tasting menu highlights produce, pork, and eggs from their own two-acre Applewood Farm ($85 plus tax and tip; 501 11th St., nr.
