Looks like Stateside will get first dibs on Brewery Ommegang’s latest creation, Duvel Rustica. Tomorrow the beer-maker is sending its brew master, Phil Lambert, to the East Passyunk Ave. hot-spot, where the reigning champion of its HopChef competitions, George Sabatino, holds court. Together the two will host a celebration for the new brew’s coming out. The restaurant will start popping corks, and pouring the Belgian-style golden ale at 6 p.m. It was brewed in collaboration with Belgium’s Duvel Moortgat Brewery, and mimics the benchmark beer’s delicate balance of flavors, but adds a bit of rustic fruitiness found in most Ommegang’s ales. For its release, Sabatino will offer a selection of special dishes he created to pair with it. Beers and food will be pay-as-you-go.
