Mimi’s Hummus Offers Catering; Brunch Service Starts at the Pines and L’Apicio

• Gowanus’s the Pines (Littleneck’s kid brother) will now be open seven days a week (it was closed Tuesdays), and is starting brunch this Saturday, December 1. On weekends from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., look out for standbys like a steak, egg, and cheese biscuit, but also buckwheat waffles with smoked bluefish and venison tartare served with duck yolk. • Recently opened Greenwich Village Mexican restaurant El Toro Blanco is now serving lunch: Look out for straightforward crowd-pleasers like burritos, Mexican chopped salad, and tortilla soup. [Grub Street]

• Murray Hill’s the Churchill is collaborating with Bulldog Gin for a happy hour in honor of the birthday of their namesake prime minister on Friday, November 30, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. A portion of the evening’s proceeds will be donated to the Red Cross’s Sandy relief efforts. [Grub Street]
