Following the news that New York is sending us our own Rao’s, word drops that Miami’s Barton G. The Restaurant is heading to La Cienega at the start of new year. For anyone who ever thought The Bazaar was a little over-the-top, you ain’t seen nothing yet mang.
Broadway World* reports that this fourth branch of Barton G. Weiss’s flashy empire will feature a menu created by the company’s executive chef Jeff O’Neil, a vet of Charlie Palmer, Daniel, and Le Bernadin who opened the awarded L’Escalier at The Breakers in Palm Beach.
The restaurant is known for its rich take on seafood and chimerical designs on land animals, ordered off of iPads and arriving in an endless parade of offbeat dishes, as found in a bucked of beef and pork ribs, chicken legs, and lamb chops called “Boarnie Madoff,”,along with smoking cocktails, fries in flower pots, popcorn shrimp in a popcorn box, prime rib with handcuffs, and duck from out of wooden hunting decoy. That kind of thing.
Would we prefer that Miami shipped us a solid cafecito and decent media noche instead of savory macaron sandwiches at another trendy disco-torium? Time will tell. Until then check out the online menu as Barton gets busy on Restaurant Row.
Barton G. The Restaurant, 861 N. La Cienega Blvd. West Hollywood.
