Buddakan Back on Top In the Latest Zagat Survey

Results from Zagat’s survey of Philly-area restaurants may not be quite as mind-boggling they are in Los Angeles or “San Franscico.” But nonetheless, there’s an upset of sorts in the latest findings, which are being made public this week. Seems the crown jewel of the Starr empire, OG Buddakan in Old City, has once again assumed its place at the top of the “Most Popular” heap. For the last few years its been riding shotgun, while Jose Garces led the category with his temple of tapas, Amada. The Iron Chef’s flagship now runs second to Starr’s lair of the big golden Buddha. Save for that shift, and meatless newcomer Vedge’s strong showing in multiple categories, the rest of the book reads just like any other year’s: Vetri, Bibou and Fountain at the Four Seasons earned the highest rankings.
