Lamb chops with saffron, ginger, farro, and dates will be the most expensive menu item at the new Tavern on the Green when it reopens in the fall of 2013, coming in at least $10 less than the old menu’s typical price point for a comparable main course. Chef Katy Sparks will be using sustainable shrimp for the menu’s shrimp cocktail, which, at $18, will also be less expensive than its last iteration at the restaurant. The landmarked restaurant’s relaunch was the subject of last night’s CB8 Manhattan meeting, reports DNAinfo, and while we’d already seen a sample menu, the larder seems to be falling into place and it’s getting closer to dinnertime.
