The Denver-bred Smashburger chain opened its first area outpost in Thousand Oaks this past summer, and today an ABC license pinpoints the exact location of its first L.A. store in Culver City. Makers of an Angus meatball patty that gets thwacked with the company’s proprietary “smashing tool,” Smashburger is taking over the shuttered Famima location at Venice Blvd. and Overland, with an expected debut sometime before the end of 2012, with many, many more to follow. So, nice try pre-cut sushi and heat lamp cha siu bao, but how dare you try to challenge artery-throttling beef! 10704 Venice Blvd.
