Like the mythical phoenix rising from its own ashes, the stretch of South Street that was once tagged the “hippest street in town” is coming back to life with the addition of Redwood. It’s the new casual, wine-beer-and-small-plates joint that we told you Copabanana owner Bill Curry was opening with his nephew Daniel Christensen. It opened last night with little fanfare beyond a status update on Facebook, and a quick tweet. It has 24 wines by the glass, plus 100 more bottles, plus eight taps, an extensive bottle list, and a fully stocked bar. The menu is limited to cheese, charcuterie, and some other small plates, but is expected to offer more soon.
