Philly Food Truck Festival Rolling Up On SugarHouse Thursday

Keep on truckin'.
Keep on truckin’.

Despite it all coming together rather last minute, Thursday’s Food Truck Festival at SugarHouse — yes, as in the casino with the crappy dining options that’s next to Yards Brewery on Delaware Ave. — is shaping up to be something worth taking a gamble on. And with 15 to 20 trucks, carts and vendors expected, it’s also one of the largest of Philly Mobile Food Association’s truckin’ events to date. SugarHouse, as you might expect, is upping the ante with an outdoor beer garden, an opportunity to score $10 in free play through joining its rewards program, music, games, and a chance to cast a ballot for the best truck in what’s being billed as “Battle of the Food Trucks Competition.” Keep reading to see the full list of participating trucks and vendors.

Participating trucks for this inaugural food truck fest at the casino include:

Jimmies Cupcake Co
Vernalicious
GIGI & BIG R
Local 215
SPOT
The Tamale Cart
Birds of Paradise
The Mini Trini
Say Cheese
Lil Dans
Gozen
Joe Spud
Sweetbox
Foo Truck
Made in the Shade
Rocco’s
More vendors TBA

The festival takes place in SugarHouse’s sprawling parking lot, runs from 5 to 11 p.m., and is open only to those who are 21 or older.
