Here’s your first look at the frenchified version of the Morris Grilled Cheese truck, due to hit the streets of Paris next month. Michael Jacober, who is also opening a brick-and-mortar restaurant project this fall in Brooklyn, tells us that organizer Anna Polonsky invited Morris to come to France shortly after she tried one of the truck’s grilled-cheese sandwiches during last month’s Le Fooding festivities. He couldn’t believe it at first, but early next month he and chef Chris Austin will participate in a two-day street festival that brings together the “crème de la crème of food trucks” from all over the world. Of course, the actual truck won’t be shipped over: Le Fooding is renting a cream-colored step van and is even manufacturing a neon sign to match the New York truck’s original version. “The next time we have some event in Paris,” Jacober says, laughing, “we’ll have our ‘Eat’ sign ready to go.” [Earlier]
