Save for the Khyber Pass Pub, and Stephen Starr’s Continental, Old City was a barren wasteland of vacant properties and storefronts that rolled up their sidewalks at 5 p.m. when Ellen Yin and Roberto Sella debuted Fork near Third and Market streets back in 1997. But its opening, and the endless stream of accolades for the American bistro that steadily followed, undoubtedly sparked an amazing renaissance for the surrounding blocks. Today, Fork celebrates 15 years, just as it begins a new chapter with chef Eli Kulp at the kitchen’s helm. Congratulations, and here’s to 15 more!
