When gut bombs and dirty bombs collide: Runnin’ Scared points us to the open-source research group Public Intelligence, who’ve uploaded an FDNY PowerPoint file called “Food Trucks: A Transient Hazard.” The presentation, which features the Schnitzel & Things truck on the title slide, was apparently made last month. Delving into the threat analysis of food trucks as conduits of domestic terrorism reveals that vending operations are laden with gas cylinders, have unfettered access to city streets, and don’t forget about the “bio-hazard from questionable sanitary conditions.” Blam! Also, a “a food cart can be used as an excellent surveillance platform due to their access and long duration stays.” Maybe it is time for Jack Bauer to open that 24: The Petits Fours dessert truck after all.
