The City Council passed new legislation that will require restaurant owners to pay for their delivery cyclists to take road safety classes and wear protective gear, including helmets and a "reflective vest with the business's name and a three-digit ID code." Deliverymen who run red lights, ride onto sideways, or bike the wrong way down streets will be subject to harsher penalties. "We want the days of the 'Wild, Wild West' to come to an end," a Council Member tells The Wall Street Journal. [WSJ via Daily Intel, Earlier]
