In the spring of 2011, we learned that Little Tokyo’s 40-year-old Japanese-Hawaiian market Safe & Save was closing its doors. Today we find that Bachi Burger, the casual Japanese concept bringing “Ronin Burgers” L.A.’s way via Sin City, has secured the lease for this same address, planning a 2,348-quare-foot location with beer and wine service. Construction is still pending on the sparse rectangular structure, though Bachi is still foretelling its fall opening on the restaurant’s home page.
