A16 Expands to the East Bay With Rockridge Location

Big news from the mini-empire of Shelley Lindgren and Victoria Libin, the co-owners of A16 and SPQR: They’re opening a second location of A16 across the Bay next year, in the space that’s currently home to Hudson (5356 College Avenue). The Scoop reports that the menu will be similar to the Marina location, with Neapolitan pizza, meatballs, their well loved tripe, etc., but that there will also be a greater focus on seafood inspired by the Puglia coast, where chef Rocky Maselli’s family is from. Unlike the S.F. location, the Rockridge spot will have a full bar and cocktail list, in addition to Lindgren’s well curated wine list. And it looks like restaurateur John Hurley is finally giving up on the Rockridge spot, having formerly run Garibaldi’s and Marzano in that space, and revamping it as Hudson last year. Hudson looks to be closing imminently, and A16 Oakland is due in early 2013. [Scoop, Related]
