Tully’s Coffee Shuttering All But One S.F. Location

Another Starbucks/Peet’s competitor appears to be shrinking in the face of the other companies’ success. Tully’s Coffee is closing their Cole Valley location as of this Sunday, and they appear to be closing all of their San Francisco locations but one, the Pacific Heights branch at 2455 Fillmore. (This means the locations at 50 Post Street and 425 Market will close as well.) The company previously shuttered their Oakland store, at Frank Ogawa Plaza, this past spring. We’re not clear on the fate of the Shattuck Avenue store in Berkeley, but reports have been pretty grim for the brand over the past couple of years. Tully’s sold off their wholesale business to Green Mountain Coffee in 2009, and they’ve been in the process of reorganizing and selling off stores after announcing two years ago that they expected to deplete their cash resources by this year.
