Taste of Koreatown

If our bellies weren’t still weighed down with $30 worth of galbi jjim and 20 tiny bowls of banchan from an epic dinner at Soban last night, we might actually get out of our chairs and jump at this news. The L.A. Times announces “A Taste of Koreatown,” the new name for the “Koreatown BBQ Cook-Off,” popping off at noon this Saturday with a collection of favorites like Park’s, BCD Tofu House, Palsaik Samgyupsal, and Ham Ji Park selling their dishes, along with non-Korean staples like El Cholo and Papa Cristo’s, and food from forthcoming Seoul Sausage Company. And continuing the Koreatown tradition of providing maximum bang for minimum bucks, entry is only two-dollars. 12:00-5:00 P.M. at Hobart & Wilshire. [LAT]
