This fall, L.A. will get its first incarnation of Seasons 52, Darden Restaurant’s wine-focused, farm-to-table grill chain that is spread across the U.S. An 8,528 square-foot location of the corporate restaurant will open its doors to Century City’s Westfield mall on November 12, serving lunch, dinner, and cocktails using the good stuff from Weiser Family Farms, Be Wise, Frog Hollow, and Reiger Family Farms, among other area growers. Though it has a location in Costa Mesa and the company’s Capital Grille operates locally, Seasons probably should have come to L.A. a long time ago, seeing as its hook is a menu of dishes and desserts that all come in at 475 calories or less. The wine program stays true to the name, too, with 52 wines by the glass among a list of 100 bottles. The space also sounds kind of cool.
The space will include a piano bar, two private dining rooms, and an outdoor patio with private fire tables. (What no gourmet bathing activities?!). Additional features of note include a 112-foot living wall of shade plants, edible herbs and grasses, and a glassed-in chef’s garden with 140 plants. The Century City location will be followed by another huge opening on Ocean Boulevard in Santa Monica after the New Year.
