Universal Hub reports that the Boston Licensing Board voted yesterday to give lawyers for the troubled Morton’s of Chicago and its Boylston Street landlord, three months to resolve a lawsuit over back rent. If nothing is resolved, a new restaurant could move on in. Morton’s was evicted in January.
For their part, Morton’s lawyers say that they’ll pony up $216,000 in back rent. They could also sell their coveted liquor license, which is worth a nice $300,000 or more, to a future tenant. And just who could that be?
Meanwhile, their Seaport location is still hangin’ in.
