Fashion Week ‘presentations’ are a more casual and less formal alternative to runway shows, but they’re arguably more brutal for models, however, since they have to stand stoically in place like mannequins for up to two hours under spotlights while guests come, air-kiss, hobnob, and go. Speakeasy checked out the young designer Wes Gordon’s presentation yesterday and found “at least two presentation staffers had the job of model feeder: keeping the models hydrated and otherwise sustained.” Throughout the 90-minute presentation, models were kept peppy with little bowls of snacks and offered sips of bottled water through straws.
