Mina Leaves Detroit, Puck Moves In

Mina, Puck.
Mina, Puck.

When one celebrity chef abandons a hotel property, another celebrity chef will move in. The Michael Mina Group has decided to close its two Detroit restaurants, SaltWater and Bourbon Steak, both in the MGM Grand casino hotel, stating that after the completion of their five-year contract the two companies are parting ways. In place of the two restaurants will be two new spots from OG celebrity chef Wolfgang Puck, as the Detroit Free Press reports: Wolfgang Puck Pizzeria & Cucina will take the SaltWater space, and in the other will be Wolfgang Puck Steak — a new concept that sounds like it’s a poor-man’s version Puck’s Cut steakhouse chain. Earlier this year, Puck closed his Wolfgang Puck Grille in the same casino, but apparently he just can’t stay out of Detroit. [Detroit Free Press]
