Landmarc’s Marc Murphy on His ‘Personal’ WTC Bid

As one of three finalists picked to potentially helm the food-service operation inside the observatory at 1 World Trade Center, Benchmarc Restaurant Group's Marc Murphy tells Food Republic that his experience working for years as a chef at the Windows on the World, on the 106th and 107th floors of the World Trade Center's North Tower, are an advantage. I think I have a leg up on the logistics about getting parties to work up there, says Murphy. When asked about his emotional connection to the site, he says, I think its personal for any American. I would look at it as an honor to be running the food on top of one of the most symbolic buildings in the world. Its emotional and powerful.
