Learn more about sustainable food! See chefs from Chicago and even faraway New York City! Feel fuzzier toward corporation which is making fast food a little better! You’ll be doing all these things if you attend Saturday’s 2nd annual Cultivate Festival, sponsored by Chipotle to help raise awareness of better-raised and more sustainable foods. Last year’s drew some 15,000 people to Lincoln Park, and the lineup looks even more likely to pack ‘em in this year, with chefs ranging from locals like Paul Kahan, Chris Pandel and Sarah Gruneberg to visitors including Richard Blais, Zak Pelaccio (The Fatty Crab in New York) and Jon Shook and Vinny Dotolo (Animal in L.A.) There will be family farms, local artisanal vendors like Black Dog Gelato and Puffs of Doom, and a beer and wine tent full of popular names from 5 Rabbit to Revolution Brewing, whose proceeds go to Familyfarmed.org. There will be music by G. Love and Special Sauce, J.C. Brooks & the Uptown Sound (who do that great Wilco cover XRT keeps playing) and others. And more. It’s 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and so far as we can tell from the map, it’s in that whole area between Stockton and Cannon Drives south of the South Pond, or in other words, east of the Green City Market.
