In response to criticism that its beer list was absent of local and craft selections, the Center City outpost of Brazilian steakhouse chain Chima is taking action. General Manager Noto Fernandez has upgraded the sudsy offerings, adding more than ten new brews to the list that aren’t from the yellow-tinted BudMillerCoors portfolio of lame-ass adult beverages, according to a Chima rep. In addition to upping the local and craft ante, Fernandez is also bringing in wine and spirits educator (he’s also PW’s restaurant critic) Brain Freedman to school Chima’s staff on the revamped list. Though hardly groundbreaking — the most exotic bottle is Victory’s Golden Monkey — it’s certainly a step in the right direction. Check the newly updated beer list straight ahead.
