You know those Europeans, always off on some eternal vacation while your nose stays glued to the grindstone. Beverly Hills’ authentic Austrian tavern, BierBeisl, is no exception. One of the most highly-regarded new restaurants to hit the scene, it’s been on hiatus since August 29, probably backpacking its way through the ruins of Chiapas or something cool like that. The restaurant returns this Thursday, and with its re-opening comes the inevitable introduction of its Oktoberfest activities and a new fall menu.
Owner-chef Bernhard Mairinger’s (Gene Simmons-free) plans include a new fall menu that includes the restaurant’s staples of veal, turkey, or pork schnitzel, plus the roasted pork shank known as schweinshaxe, knoedel dumplings, and a surplus of sauerkraut.
The restaurant is also hatching a daily weisswurst breakfast from 11:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M. and has a five-course beer-and-sausage pairing menu up its sleeves, all debuting on September 22.
