As if there wasn’t enough steak on the 90210 streets, national steakhouse chain Fleming’s is opening its first new store in four years in Beverly Hills, joining such nearby steak-slinging competitors as Cut, Mastro’s, Grill on the Alley, Ruth’s Chris, McCormick & Schmick’s, Wolfgang’s Steakhouse, and South Beverly Grill with a new location set to open in November on Beverly Drive. Whew!

According to the Newport Beach-bred chain’s announcement, Fleming’s has had its eye on the space, previously occupied by the California Pizza Kitchen owners’ L.A. Food Show, for a while now. The new 7,200-square-foot restaurant will have room for 250 guests, a two-story wine room, and glassed-in patio so passersby can gawk over everybody’s steaks and seafood on their way down to Momed.

So, does Beverly Hills really need an eighth steakhouse in less than a single mile? Maybe not, but then again, Beverly Hills is famous for buying a lot of things it doesn’t exactly need.
