Thirty-one members of an advocacy group that challenged Mario Batali and Joe Bastianich’s group over tips, overtime, and other working conditions have reached a $1.15 million settlement, reports The Wall Street Journal. Restaurant Opportunities Center alleged the Del Posto workers were mistreated; the settlement not only includes changes to the restaurant’s sick- and vacation-day policies but will also result in a new policy requiring management to take cultural-sensitivity training. In March, Batali and Bastianich agreed to a $5.25 million settlement in response to an unrelated lawsuit. [WSJ, Earlier]
