If you thought your car was safe parked at Acme near 10th and Reed streets while you stuffed your face and drank yourself stupid at the ever growing number of restaurants and bars along the East Passyunk Ave corridor, we have some bad news to share. According to Passyunk Post, it’s technically not legal to ditch your wheels there unless, of course, you’re grocery shopping. Even worse, due to the recent increase in the number of cars parked — illegally — in that sprawling lot, Acme’s cracking down, and calling the cops. And you know they’re all too happy to ticket, or if you’re a scofflaw, tow your vehicle. The good news is, if you get too tanked to drive home, you’re car’s safe, provided it’s parked there after 10 p.m. But if you don’t move before 7 a.m., you’re looking at an $85 ticket.
