With His Own Line of Signature Knives, Tony Luke’s a Real Cut-Up

Clown prince of roast pork Tony Luke, Jr. is something of a renaissance man: He sings, he acts, and he slings some bad-ass sandwiches. And now you can add bona fide cut-up to that list. The global cheesesteak tycoon, whose coveted sandwiches can be found everywhere from South Philly to Puerto Rico to Bahrain, has his own signature knife. It’s made by ErgoChef, the same company that’s behind Guy Fieri’s knives, but don’t hold that against them, or Luke. It’s a multipurpose, seven-inch, serrated knife with an offset blade, and it retails for a fraction of the cost of the Peroxide Porcupine’s rapier. On Saturday from noon to 2 p.m, Luke will be at Fante’s in the Italian Market to yuck it up with fans, sign autographs, talk cheesesteaks and show off his knives.
