In June the Beagle revamped its food menu, in July it closed for renovations, and now this Saturday, August 25, the Portland-y cocktail bar will reopen. The spot has gotten even more into booze in the time away, so look for an expanded sherry list and updated cocktails. The food menu from new chef Jeffery Ryan Creager (formerly of ‘inoteca) has been pared down; new dishes include polenta-fried oysters with sauce gribiche, scallion, and cilantro, or a half chicken with tomatoes, pistachio, and basil. And the Beagle has also pulled off what every seventh grader yearns for: the summer-vacation makeover, in the form of new banquettes and a sophisticated gray-and-blue color scheme. All the kids are gonna wonder what happened.
