Suzanne Goin and Caroline Styne really don’t need a justification to flip burgers, no matter whether or not it signals the peak of 2012’s impending chef-pocalypse to fine-dining snobs. Besides, the partners are pairing champagne with three types of upscale sliders, so it’s hardly like they’re mimicking Mickie D’s here. Starting this week, the duo will offer a Sunday night “Burgers and Bubbles” prix fixe at Brentwood’s Tavern for $30, plus tax and tip.
The menu features a turkey slider with arugula and tomato confit paired with J. Lassalle Brut Chigny-les-roses, a triple pork burger slider with manchego cheese and romesco with extra dry Prosecco, and a Niman ranch beef slider with fontina, lettuce, and tomato with Veuve Fourny rosé. This champers and sliders night is available only in Tavern’s Blue Room, from 3:00 to 9:00 every Sunday, with reservations at 310-806-6464.
