When Stephen Hanson’s BR Guest bought the Strip House brand last year, the megarestaurateur said he’d be expanding. Looks like those plans are coming along nicely: BR Guest will open a second New York branch of the steakhouse in midtown next month.

Unlike the 12th Street original, the new location — a 150-seat space with a large mezzanine at 15 West 44th Street — will be open for lunch and Sunday brunch, starting in October. “I’m really excited about creating new dishes for lunch,” says chef John Schenk, who told Grub that the new daytime menu will include an open-faced smoked prime rib sandwich with wild mushrooms and fried onion; mustard-glazed bone marrow with red onion jam and pickled melon; blackened-swordfish-and-chimichurri sandwich on ciabatta; a ten-ounce dry-aged strip steak with goose-fat potatoes; and “lobster frites.”
