As the summer season winds down, Meritage chef Anne Coll is getting a little crabby. Well, with her tasting menu anyway. Beginning Wednesday the Rittenhouse restaurant will offer a four-course prix fixe menu that spotlights the crustacean in several different and imaginative ways. It will be available through Friday, and costs $39 per person. There’s also an optional wine pairing for $20 more. The kaffir lime curry crab, and the grass-fed beef and soft shell crabs in Hollandaise dishes sound like they’re worth the cost of admission alone. Keep reading to see the full menu.

And while Meritage explores crabs, over at Matyson Ben Puchowitz is turning Japanese with his tasting menu. Dubbed “Taste of Japan,” the five course tasting features kombu cured kompachi, miso cod and yuzu ice cream. It’s available through Friday for $45 per person. That menu follows below.
